When the water is dirty, I concentrate on shallow shots and shoot close up wide angle. It helps to hide backscatter if the frame is filled with light colored subjects. f5.6, 1/30 sec. Nikonos V, 15mm lens, 2 YS-300's manual 1/4 power with my hand over one. Waigeo, Raja Empat.
