Underwater images are stunning. Vibrant colors catch the eye. Viewers seldom realize
how difficult it can be to capture these images. Not only are the creatures moving in 3D,
the photographer is also moving in 3D. Sunlight is filtered out by the water. There are
no tripods to help the photographer steady the camera while shooting in these low light
conditions. The photographer must generally shoot while hovering in midwater. Bits of
sand and plankton floating between the camera and subject can reflect the light and
easily ruin a photo.
