First, Happy New Year to all of our guests past, present (2 are on a liveaboard today) and future! We hope everyone had an enjoyable festive season and in January are fully recharged and ready to take on the year! January is always a quiet time at home. However a quiet time for us always translates into a busy time for us preparing for our 2012 trips in Raja Ampat and other areas of Indonesia. I've highlighted some of our current trips, special offers and some fun things to see in the articles below.

I am delighted to announce City Seahorse Value Added Tours have been accepted for the Pure Travel website. Pure Travel is a site dedicated to promotion of tours and operations who conform to a Responsible Tourism policy. I am in the process of preparing the data for their website. [Added 1/30/2012 - HOWEVER Pure Travel uses generic images from the country of tours offered on the site which would include images of places that would never been seen on the tour. This is misleading the consumer. I have refused to allow this for my tours.]

| GOBY?
Godehard Kopp of the University of Gottingen in Germany filmed a partnership between the pair of animals. He saw what appeared to be a black-marble jawfish closely tagging behind the octopus as it moved across the sandy seafloor. The jawfish possessed brown-and-white markings similar to ones on the octopus it was following that made it difficult to spot among its many arms. Watch the Video

2013 CHARTERS FOR YOUR GROUP, CLUB or DIVE SHOP
Dates for full charters should be booked a minimum of 6-12 months in advance. Be sure to contact me if you have a group of 12-16 and would like a private charter organized for your club or group of dive buddies. All you need to do is round up the divers, I will arrange flights in Indonesia, any hotels or add-on trips for you. We are planinng the schedule NOW.

I also offer INDIVIDUAL DIVE TRIPS anytime of the year with only the ships, resorts and dive operators I trust to give you a great holiday. I'd rather lose business than sell anyone a trip during the wrong season or to a place I would not love myself!

ABOUT CITY SEAHORSE VALUE ADDED TRIPS
Each year I organize and accompany a few specialty trips, the City Seahorse Charters, to only the best dive spots in In the world. I've been doing this since 1994.
These 100% Raja Ampat trips are the best of the best.
Nearly very week I receive emails from our clients telling me how my Raja Ampat trips have spoiled them for the Caribbean, Fiji and other dive destinations. They report back "no fishes", "no critters".
They are also telling me how much they enjoy the freedom to dive as they want without silly arbitrary rules, something that is seldom available on other trips.

On every City Seahorse charter we will try for 4+dives/day. Unlimited diving time. Staying at the good sites for photography, video and adventure and missing the bad sites. If you have favorite sites from a previous trip, please tell me and we will try to work them into the itinerary.
MY WORST DIVE IN A MONTH - THE PHOTOS
Normally I use photos from my best dives to make a video or grab a frame for use on FB, websites, etc. Last week I was watching video from one day of the last trips. I remembered it was the worst dive of the entire month. But.. heck.. there is a Mimic Octopus, pipehorse, a bunch of allied cowries, unusual nudibranchs.. not so bad in retrospect! Especially when cold and dry.....
